Chapter 17. The Last Time
Early in the morning, the originally warm house was in chaos and confusion.
"Honey, I received a last-minute notice and will have to go on an urgent business trip to Austria soon. I may not be able to accompany you for the rest of the week." The wife said guiltily, but hurriedly packed her luggage.
Shen Xi reached out and quietly put the things his wife had forgotten into the suitcase, and said softly, "It doesn't matter, I'm just going home to work anyway."
In fact, he had long been accustomed to it and had prepared himself mentally. Every time Mo Ru had time to see him, he would always arrange his work in advance and take time out to accompany her the whole day, but Mo Ru was used to being spoiled and never thought of doing so. Her work was busy and she needed to travel frequently, so she was used to the temporary farewells every time.
After packing the luggage, Mo Ru hugged Shen Xi and said, "If you want to rest, just stay here. The surrounding environment is better."
Mo Ru's house here is a single-family villa, surrounded by green plants, and every morning you can hear the sounds of various birds singing outside.
After that, a car horn sounded outside.
"Hey!" Mo Ru shouted outside, turned around and kissed the corner of Shen Xi's mouth "Honey, my colleague is here to pick me up, I'll leave first!" After saying that, she turned around and rushed out of the house.
Shen Xi shook his head helplessly, turned around and packed his luggage. Since his wife is not here, there is no point for him to stay.

- Domestic night -
Yi Ruo sat in the bar, holding out her bank card, opened her phone and transferred the money to the other party in batches. She was silent for a moment, turned off her phone, and breathed a sigh of relief.
She lowered her head quietly, a little dazed. The debt that had been weighing on her for five years was finally paid off.
She grew up with her uncle since she was a child. As for her parents, they were probably dead or divorced and remarried. In any case, she had never seen them.
Her uncle treated her generally and her aunt was mean, but she didn't deprive her of anything either. She still let her receive high school education. When she was 18 years old, she received an admission letter and scholarship notice from B University. She thought her life had finally ushered in a different sunshine.
But after that. . .
Yi Ruo was silent for a moment, lowering her head to play with the wine glass.
Afterwards, she successfully went to the university she had always dreamed of. Her first year of university life was really wonderful. Everyone was full of youth, and their eyes were shining with anticipation for the future.
During the summer vacation, she returned to her uncle's house and found it noisy. She guessed that her uncle's son had done something wrong again. She heard her uncle roaring, as if his son had joined a gang.
There is nothing impressive about the rural gangs. They are just a group of people who can't read well and can't find jobs. They drink, smoke and fight all day long.
Yi Ruo packed her luggage and didn't want to pay any attention to it, thinking that she might not come back during the holidays. . .
After a week, the room was dark at night and it seemed that all the lights outside the door were turned off. Her uncle and aunt should be asleep, but as for his son, who knows.
The lights from the street came in through the cracks. Yi Ruo, who was about to do her homework for a while, heard a noisy sound coming from outside the door. It seemed that someone was fighting and occasionally knocking on the door of the house.
After listening for a while, there was a loud crash and the door was opened. Her uncle's son was yelling at his parents.
Yi Ruo locked the door tightly and had no intention of going out.
Her uncle and aunt must have gotten up, and then there was a lot of noise and some knocking sounds.
Suddenly, something hit her door, she heard her aunt scream, and the surroundings suddenly became quiet.
Yi Ruo held the phone tightly, the screen showed 120 which had not been dialed yet. When she opened the door, what she saw was the bloodstains on the door.
Yi Ruo's pupils shrank slightly as she looked at the person lying on the ground. The blood on his neck was still splattering heavily, and the wound was so big that it was difficult to see clearly. It seemed that the cut had hit the aorta.
Yi Ruo could not remember what happened afterwards.
Two days later, her uncle came to the room, sat on her bed, lowered his head and said nothing, looking visibly depressed.
Yi Ruo sat quietly at the desk, waiting for her uncle to speak.
"Yi Ruo, you also know that our family has no future." He seemed embarrassed and paused.
"You are the only one who walked out of this village."
Yi Ruo's heart skipped a beat, and she had a bad feeling.
The uncle looked at Yi Ruo, whose face was slightly gloomy, closed his eyes and continued, "The man's family said that it can be resolved privately."
"What do you mean? This is a murder case, uncle, we have to file a case." Yi Ruo's face was visibly pale.
Looking at the silent uncle and thinking about this closed village that has not changed much over the years, Yi Ruo's heart gradually turned cold.
"Can money solve a life?"
The uncle suddenly looked at Yi Ruo. "He is your brother!"
Looking at Yi Ruo who lowered her head and remained silent, the man continued slowly. "We raised you and never thought about asking you to repay us. But this time there is really no way, Yi Ruo."
"How much does that man want?"
"6 million."
Yi Ruo stood up and looked at the man in front of him.
"Where can we find 6 million?!"
The man looked at Yi Ruo and said excitedly, "We found a loan shark who is willing to lend us money, as long as we pay it back within 5 years, and the interest will not double."
Yi Ruo sat down and said, "Then why did you come to me?"
The uncle paused, his eyes dodged,
"We...you...can I use your ID card..."
"What do you mean? I'm a student who just entered college. How can I live if you let me owe a loan shark?"
Yi Ruo felt her blood flowing backwards throughout her body.
The man stammered, "But, but we can't get this much money in three lifetimes."
Yi Ruo sneered. Could she really get it?
Yi Ruo closed her eyes and said calmly, "You can go out first."
